Small Town Tuesday’s – Salado Texas

I love this little town.  It is a shopper’s paradise.  If you love home goods, antiques, and good food you will LOVE Salado!  They usually have something going on every weekend.

Horse Feather’s is one of my favorite shops.  So many unique things.

I love this old garage.  I make the trek up 35 North alot.  Two or three times a week you will see some pretty impressive antique vehicles sitting around with old men drinking coffee.  (Or I think their drinking coffee).  I’m sure they are telling stories.

This is a side street to the station.  Several quaint gift shops with unusual gifts.

If you decide to spend the night they have that too!  The famous Stagecoach Inn.

If you have a wedding or large event Tenroc Ranch is the place for you!  Breathtaking grounds and country views.

Tenroc ranch is beautiful, the grounds as well as the facilities.  I also attended a Scott & White function there this past summer.  That event and the wedding were awesome.

Salado has tons to offer.  Check out their calendar the next time you have a free weekend.  http://www.salado.com/calendar.cfm

Happy Tuesday!

The clothes were fab, as well as the jewelry, oh and the shoes!  LOVED these boots!

Small Town Tuesday’s – McGregor, Texas

Recently I traveled to McGregor Texas.   McGregor is about 120 miles north of Austin just west of 35.  Like alot of small towns in Texas it seems as if you are in the middle of no where and then suddenly you see the speed limit start to drop.

According to the 2000 census there is less than 5,000 people in  McGregor.   The downtown has the old buildings from the 1800’s you would expect but very few buildings on the cross streets.

I first stopped at Doug’s restaurant downtown.   He offers a variety of sandwiches and salads and a nice selection of expresso creations.  Doug Cobb is the owner, you can find him and his quaint shop at 402 w. 3rd st., dougsonline.com

I wish I’d had time to eat.  It smelled yummy!

Around the corner on main street was T.J.’s Cigar Lounge.  WOW.  What a surprise.  They boast the largest cigar lounge in Texas.

Looks can be deceiving…

Nice leather seating and super cool paintings surround the walls.  I could really hang out here.  Too bad I don’t smoke!

I could learn to gamble though. They are BYOB and are always having something going on…like Texas Hold’em.  You can find them at 322 S Main St, McGregor, 76657. tjcigar.com.  They are open 6 days a week.   I didn’t catch the artist name, but I loved the paintings!

I have a penchant for old broken down movie houses.   My secret wish is to buy one someday and refurbish it.  Lucky for me there are plenty in Texas.  Just need to work on that refurbish fund.

Happy Tuesday!

Commercial Customers – GO BIG!

I recently did a commercial shoot for local Rising Star’s dentist office.   I’ve already blogged about the shoot, but went back today for follow-up.

Commercial work is usually all images on a CD.  This allows the client to use in their marketing pieces for at least the next year (or when they get stale). They receive full resolution files as well as web sized files.   That way they can use for their website, ads, brochures, and make super sized prints.

WOW.  I love when a client goes big!  This 30X40 gallery wrap is in their foyer.

Left to Right:  Dr. Singletary, Dr. Freeze, Dr. Thomas, and Dr. Gregerson.  If your kids need a dentist, this is the one I recommend!   Call for an appointment: 512.266.7200. Locations in NW Austin (around the corner from Target near lakeline mall) and Steiner Ranch.

I took another business card holder for their Steiner Ranch location.  They had to have it at the Lakeline location.  Sweet baby girl!

Happy Wednesday!
